Visa Requirements

When preparing for your visit to Taiwan, you will need to verify that you have the documents necessary to enter the country. The requirements vary based on the type of visa you are eligible for and need for your stay, as well as your nationality. We encourage you to make these preparations well in advance to ensure smooth entry.

It may be possible for you to travel here without a visa, since Taiwan has a visa exemption program for certain countries. You may stay up to 90 days in Taiwan without a visa if you are a national of one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, and Vatican City State. If you are a national of Australia, Malaysia, or Singapore, you may stay up to 30 days without a visa. Other exemption conditions are also available.

For complete visa information, please visit Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs website at http://www.boca.gov.tw/mp.asp. Visa requirements, rules, and forms are all available on this website. Please note that if you do need to apply for a visa, the form must be filled out online, as completed offline forms are no longer acceptable.
